Springfield's Gaines among three Bengals cut

CINCINNATI — Rookie cornerback Jerrid Gaines, a former Springfield South High School and Miami University star, was among three players waived by the Bengals on Monday, July 7.
Defensive tackles Titus Adams (Nebraska) and Michael Marquardt (Arizona State) also were released.
Gaines, a non-drafted college free agent, signed with the Bengals on May 29 after the Cleveland Browns released him May 4.
The Bengals' roster currently lists 82. Only 80 with signed contracts are allowed into training camp. Players report to Georgetown (Ky.) College on July 27 with the first practices set for July 28.
