Fairfield lacrosse players honored
FAIRFIELD — Four members of the Fairfield Lacrosse Club earned Ohio High School Lacrosse Association All-South Region honors this season in the club division.
Freshman Jake Shiffman was a second-team selection as an attackman.
Honorable mention picks were senior Jared Morris (midfielder) and freshmen Jacob Morrison (defender) and Mason Nevels (attack).
Bean sets bench press record
HAMILTON — Bob Bean, who trains at Fitness One in Hamilton, competed recently inm the Superman Classic Bench Press/Deadlift Championship in Metropolis, Ill.
He set an Illinois state record in the Master's Division (ages 55-59) in the 220-pound weight class with a bench press of 440 pounds.
Meiner scores first hole-in-one
HAMILTON — Dave Meiner recorded his first hole-in-one on Sunday, June 29 at Twin Run Golf Course.
Meiner, playing with Page Cecere, Dion Johnson and Mike Gantzer, aced the 136-yard 12th hole, using a pitching wedge from the white tee. He shot 83.
