Semi strikes scaffold, crash backs up interstate

MONROE — An overloaded tractor-trailer struck the scaffold on an overpass on southbound Interstate 75, causing a crash that shut down all but one lane Wednesday, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
The wreck occurred at approximately 4:15 p.m. Wednesday, May 21, at mile marker 27 near the Kyles-Station Road overpass. Dispatchers said two vehicles and a tractor-trailer were involved in the crash, which was caused when the tractor-trailer?s load clipped the construction scaffolding on the overpass.

No injuries were reported and no citations were issued, but the crash remains under investigation, police said.
