Ken Natorp admits his landscape farm at Socialville-Fosters and Snider roads is causing dust and litter problems for neighbors a stone's throw away, but agricultural zoning does not require him to make changes.
Residents who live in the 20-year-old subdivision next to Natorp's farm — Laura Smith, Christy Faulkner and Doug Rice — claim their children are getting sick because of dust and dirt stirred up Natorp trucks in the spring and summer. They also complain about trash blowing from Natorp's into their yards.

"I was mowing the lawn and these bursts of dust came up and I started coughing, couldn't catch my breath and my eyes were irritated," Rice said. "It got me thinking, are there pesticides that are also coming over here in the dust?"
The neighbors said they have called Natorp officials for three years asking for relief. Smith said the Natorps officials she's talked to have been rude and contradictory in their responses.
Ken Natorp declined to comment on past responses from his company to the residents but said, "There is a problem. I won't disagree with that."
He said there are no pesticides in the dust. He also said the company has ordered screening to cover the chain link fence that separates his farm buildings and trucks from the residences.
