West Chester Business Expo highlights region's diversity, vitality

The largest business expo between Cincinnati and Dayton continues to add to its regional flavor.

Scheduled for Tuesday, May 13, at Skatetown USA, The West Chester Business Expo is aimed at providing the local business community increased opportunities for networking and making key business connections.

For the past several years, the chamber invited other Butler County chambers of commerce to market themselves at the expo, said West Chester Chamber Alliance President and CEO Joe Hinson.

"Kind of unprecedented, if you will, because those are other chambers," he said.

Last year, the Dayton Area Chamber of Commerce attended the event. This year, the Cincinnati USA Regional Chamber and the Over-The-Rhine Chamber of Commerce are scheduled to be on hand.

Hinson said the expo highlights the diversity and vitality of the local business community.

Small business IT firm Infitech has had a presence at the expo since its inception seven years ago. Daren Hurrell, the company's Web services director, said the event keeps Infitech's name in front of the community.

"It gives us a great opportunity to network among all the other exhibitors, as well as the folks who visit the show," Hurrell said.

A luncheon prior to the event will include guest speaker Brian Kelly, head football coach for the University of Cincinnati, who boasts a 137-51-2 record in 16 previous seasons as a college head coach.

The event kicks off at 11 a.m. with networking to be followed at 11:30 a.m. with a lunch and Kelly's speech.

Lunch will feature "A Taste of West Chester/Liberty" with area restaurants and clubs dishing out their signature dishes. The luncheon is scheduled to end at 1 p.m., when the expo is scheduled to start.

More than 125 local businesses are expected to exhibit their wares and promote their services during the event, Hinson said.
