Midas going for gold in Liberty

A family-owned business is betting area motorists trust the Midas touch.

Katz Franchise Group opened its 107th Midas Auto Service location on Thursday, April 24, at 6710 Cincinnati-Dayton Road in Liberty Twp., less than one mile north of Ohio 129 and Kroger Marketplace.

The group opted for a 5,200-square-foot Liberty Twp. location because of the region's growing economy, said Dan Berns, director of marketing.

"We really felt like this might be one of our best spots to be in right now," Berns said.

Now in its third generation, the franchise group owns 14 Midas locations in Dayton and 15 in the Greater Cincinnati area, Berns said.

Midas offers brake service, preventive vehicle maintenance, exhaust and suspension services, climate control repair, oil and filter changes, tires, alignments and engine tune-ups.

Brake pads and shoes come with a lifetime guarantee and the company provides brake service at more than 1,800 franchised and company-owned Midas locations in the United States and Canada, Berns said.

The new location is staffed with three Automotive Service Excellence-certified technicians and fitted with state-of-the-art equipment for performing computerized wheel alignments and high speed tire balancing. A computerized database gives the business complete access to all manufacturer's recalls and service bulletins, most of which can be addressed at the store for a fraction of the dealer cost, Berns said.
