Cancer walk
to help flutter away child disease

The Butterfly Walk for Cancer-free Kids will take place from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, May 10, at Cottell Park, 5847 Irwin-Simpson Road, Deerfield Twp.
Come join more than 1,000 walkers to help children with cancer. Enjoy music, food, face painting, pony rides and games.
Liberty Junior School in West Chester Twp. will be walking in honor of Jessica Elam, a seventh-grader who is battling childhood cancer. Jessica has been receiving treatment for brain and spinal tumors over the past seven years at Cincinnati Children's Hospital.

Go Bananas
Comedian Drew Hastings will headline Go Bananas Comedy Club, 8410 Market Place, Montgomery, at 8 p.m. tonight, May 8, through Sunday, May 11, with an additional 10:15 p.m. shows Friday and Saturday. Tickets are $15-$20.
Hastings is a "Bob and Tom Show" favorite and a regular on Comedy Central's "Premium Blend" and "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno." Raised in Ohio by a British mother, Drew brings a unique perspective of everyday life to the stage, mixing haughty British attitude with midwestern charm. Adding to his hilarity are his mighty tall stature, tailored black suit and trademark black glasses that provide the backdrop for his storytelling. When he's not touring, he is quite at home at his farm in Ohio.

International children's choir
to perform locally
The Springdale Church of the Nazarene will host the African Children's Choir at 7 p.m. Wednesday, May 14, at the church, 11177 Springfield Pike.
The choir comprises children ages 6-10 from Uganda, Rwanda and Kenya, who are not only musical, but who also come from some of the most desperate villages. Many are orphaned due to poverty and disease. They have most recently performed on "American Idol" and "The Ellen DeGeneres Show." Money raised from their concerts will help build schools throughout Africa.

Local design gallery reveals latest remodeling trends
Neal's Design Remodel Gallery, 7770 E. Kemper Road, will host a free seminar at 6:30 p.m. May 15. The seminar will be presented by project consultants and designers who will detail the latest trends in kitchen and bath remodeling.

Monkeying around encouraged on
this train ride
The Lebanon Mason Monroe Railroad presents a train ride through Warren County with Curious George on May 17-18 and May 24-25.
The hour-long ride includes a story, photos with the mischievous monkey, a bounce castle and a hay maze.
