The new Golden Nugget
Stopped with the family a while ago to the newly renovated, post-fire Golden Nugget in Kettering, to which we hadn’t been since they reopened.
Nice! Big long line out front on a Sunday morning, too. They sure do move you through pretty quickly, too — but not in a bad way. That place has getting you in the door, done with breakfast, and happily home lickety-split down town a near-science. And they make you feel very well-served, too.
And what a breakfast! There wasn’t a bad thing we tried. I was partial to the biscuits and gravy, and I’m a sucker for hash … and theirs was fine and dandy.
What’s your favorite thing there? And where do YOU like to enjoy breakfast?

The Golden Nugget is my favorite place for breakfast in town. The coffee and the service are good, and so are the omelettes—my favorite is the broccoli and cheese omelette. I like the fact, that unlike many other places, I can order a la carte. I don’t have to get the 3-egg omelette, the hashbrowns, the biscuits, etc. I end up leaving a good half of my meal that way and wasting a lot of food, not to mention money. I love omelettes, but I never order one at Bob Evans because there’s just too darn much food!By Lena

I just LOVE the buttermilk pancakes and the omelets are out of sight too. Best breakfast place anywhere. Everything is from scratch and you can tell. My husbands is partial to the hashbrowns, they are so fresh and obviously not frozen out of a package.
